Perhaps there is in that the seeds for a sustained push, but they surely cannot keep relying on Morgan Rogers.
Enjoying the Ride
Yet, this was unforeseen. It seemed improbable Aston Villa would be in a Champions League place in December. And without a doubt back in October, few could imagine Rogers as the year closed would be leading a hunt for the title and appearing as an essential player for the national team.
The current run should be enjoyed precisely because it seems so surreal. When the hero faced the Villa faithful at the final whistle orchestrating the applause, he appeared to be thoroughly enjoying it. A feeling he has rightly earned. These runs of form are rare in football and ought to be celebrated.
